Pastoral Teaching that walks with you in your faith walk. Mark 11:24
If you are not watching and listening to Faith for Everyday Living you should be.
Hi there, this is Doug Slay inviting you to be part of our faith community. There are compelling reasons why belonging to a faith community is a good idea.
The world we live in, the political climate permeating the atmosphere are some of the compelling reasons for belonging to a faith community.
However, the most compelling reason for being an active member of a faith community is the tremendous and unparalleled opportunities for the believer in 2025.
Social media, the internet, our phones and cameras are tools that can help carry out the mandate of Matthew 6:33, “Seeking first the Kingdom of God.” If for no other reason believers should be consciously aware of these tools and wisely use them for Kingdom expansion.
2025 will be a turbulent year
Throughout history, the church and individual believers have faced turbulent times. This is not unique to the church, but it is unique to the times we are living in—by which I mean the end times.
Being an active member of a faith community can help you withstand the headwinds of change while also helping you take advantage of the opportunities that come with sudden and unexpected change.
Significant changes are taking place within the church, but none are more apparent than those within the American church. We are not immune to the political climate or the chaos of change, but we must also recognize that with change comes opportunity.
Belonging to a strong faith community is more important than ever.
Belonging to a strong faith community is more important than ever in history. Staying connected to a faith community strengthens believers, provides support in challenging times, and fosters spiritual growth. Don’t walk this journey alone—surround yourself with others who will uplift and encourage you.
The faith walk was never intended to be walked alone. At creation the power of two was implemented. The power of two is the power of agreement. If any two you agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matt.18:19.
Belonging to a faith community cannot be stressed enough but the community you belong to or might join might not be a faith community. How can two walk together unless they be in agreement scripture reminds us.
Make sure the community you belong to or choose to belong to is one where you are in agreement. Otherwise, prayers will be unanswered, questions will go unanswered. And the question of why will always be on the lips of frustrated members.
You don’t want this to happen to you and it can be avoided by making sure you and those in your community are in agreement. Otherwise, Matt. 18:19 will not be effective in your life or others.

The Dangers of Individualism and Isolation.
In today’s world, individualism and isolation can be dangerous for a believer. Here are a few key reasons why staying connected to a faith community is essential.
- In today’s world, individualism and isolation can be dangerous for a believer. Here are a few key reasons why staying connected to a faith community is essential.
- Vulnerability: In a faith community if you fall you have someone to pick up. And just as valuable, if another falls you can pick them up. Also you are less susceptible to doubt, discouragement, and loneliness. A faith community can be an anchor to keep you stedfast in times of discouragement.
- Spiritually Healthy: It is spiritually healthy to belong to a faith community. Iron sharpens iron. “As Iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.” Proverbs 27:17.
- Growth: Wholesome growth is hard to do in insolation. Individual faith is multiplied in community and a group has a stronger anointing than an individual walking alone.
Opportunities and Adversaries
The brave frontier men who blazed the trail into a new nation and beyond saw opportunity and took it. These same men faced many challenges both within and without.
But it was men who both saw the opportunity, measured the risk and went ahead anyway that led us into a new world. In the days and weeks ahead, though a different time are also unparalleled opportunities.
Other compelling reasons for belonging to a faith community.
1.Accountability. People of various backgrounds, with different skillsets will be there to provide both insight and corrections where needed. A different set of eyes can provide different ways of looking at things you might not see. A different perspective can shed light on a complicated problem or give encouragement when it is most needed.
2. It should always be remembered that belonging to a faith community is not about judgment-it is about love, carrying, growth and walking alongside each other in faith.
3. You never have to travel alone. The new frontier, 2025, communities of faith will be a support group to get up when you fall, encourage you when you are discouraged, and in general be your support group.
POWER SUGGESTIONS

- Pray for your group by name if possible.
- Think about your contributions to the group.
“A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conqueor. Three are even better, for a triple braded cord is not easly broken.”Ecc. 4:12 NLT
