Faith Blog

For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through out faith.

I John 5:4

I titled this, Faith Blog because faith is essential in pleasing God and succeeding in a hostile world. I am often reminded of the scripture in the epistle first John that says, “this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. The emphasis in on the word our’, it is our faith that makes us world overcomers.

This is a personal faith and not a generic faith. It is an organic faith, and it is a specific faith. The New Living Translation says it this way, “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory though our faith.”

Everyone born of God has world overcoming faith. This takes the argument out of it and makes excuses, inexcusable.

However, there are several principles of faith that we should be aware.

1. Many, if not most in the body of Christ is unaware of the faith they possess.
2. Those unaware should be made aware that God gave everyman a portion of faith.
3. There is more than one kind of faith.
   1. There is sense knowledge faith. This is knowledge gained through the five physical senses. Most of our educational system depends upon our five senses for learning.
   1. There is revealed faith. This kind of faith does not depend upon the five senses but upon the Holy Spirit.
   1. The combination of these two kinds of faith working in harmony and not in conflict can take an individual into worlds unknown and make the unknown known.
   1. What the Spirit teaches does not originate with the five senses but serves best when it is made known to the world through the senses.
   1. Sense knowledge faith cannot curse a fig tree and it die and sense knowledge faith cannot make a blind man see, or a crippled man walk, or a dead man live but Spirit revealed faith can do this and more.
4. Faith development. Like a muscle can be strengthened by use, faith will grow and develop by use. James in his epistle lets us know that faith without a corresponding action is dead. That is, it bears no fruit.
5. It is our faith that overcomes this evil world, including trials and test and mountains that stand in our way.
